Hi!
I'm glad you're here. You might be wondering what I'm doing here, so here's the scoop.
I don't really wear that much jewelry. My wedding ring, a couple favorite pieces - some fun, some classic. (Actually, I have a fortune from fortune cookie that says "Simplicity and clarity should be your theme in dress." That works pretty well for me.) Anyway, I ended up in charge of a jewelry company precisely because I only want to wear a couple things, things that have meaning.

Turtle Love Committee started out as a source of unusual wedding and engagement rings for cool people. I was working at a large Boston law firm, and I noticed that most of the women I worked with had nearly identical engagement rings. When I looked for a place to get truly unusual engagement rings, I didn't find one, so I decided to make it. It seemed to me that marriage is about the unique commitment that two individuals make to each other, a concept that can get lost in preparing for and talking about weddings. I believe that the rings that you choose to symbolize that commitment should honor your lifestyle and your relationship, not some weird calculus of how much to spend or how big the stone should be.
As Turtle Love Committee grew, customers and fans asked us about where our jewelry came from and whether it was ecologically and socially responsible. We wanted to know, too, and so we started asking our vendors. Now we talk to all our artists about their social and environmental impact, and being friendly towards people and the environment is TLC's core value. You can read about what we're doing to make the world a better place here.
These days, our collection has expanded to include non-wedding jewelry. We've added necklaces and earrings, but our focus is the same - to celebrate the things that matter, get rid of the things that don't, and to make the world a better place. That means each piece has to have the potential to be a favorite, the piece you wear every day.
I hope you'll find the piece in the collection that will be your favorite, or the piece that you know your loved ones will cherish. And, we'd love to hear from you!
